Jabez Elementary & Junior High School and
Trauma Counseling Center

Jabez Elementary & Junior High School and Trauma Counseling Center is a project envisioned and coordinated by Rev. Jakes Voker, a former Pastor of Sherman Avenue UMC. The school is located in Ganta City, Liberia, West Africa. The vision of the school is to break the cycle of violence caused by Liberia’s long Civil War, and transform lives through Christ centered primary education.

Sherman Avenue provides financial support for over 20 students who are unable to pay tuition. We have also donated to building projects, such as the library, student desks and bricks for the second building. Members of SAUMC have travelled to Ganta, Liberia to participate in Mission trips to help with construction and maintenance of the buildings.

Please make donations payable to Sherman Avenue UMC-Jabez School. Donations to this outreach project are tax-deductible.
